I’ve done 100 days doing anything outside of my work to upskill myself. The method that I’ve used to track my progress is via twitter (@thisisfinx).

This post simply here for me to compile what I’ve gathered from this session

The tweet that start em’ all

Main Lesson Learned

Nobody gives a hoot about what you’re doing day to day as I seen my post engagement skyrocket when I associate them with important event like a CTF/cert. This is important for experimenting with what type of content that you post here with little to no risk. If the content is important/engaging then, you can expand the reach of the thread. If it is not, it just stay there.

The Highlight Twitter Threads

These are the threads that I think is interesting enough to be highlighted but buried in the volume of the tweets done

  1. The introduction of Alternate Data Streams on Windows File Directory section on SANS Cyber Aces course
  • Personally, this one blew my mind when I first encounter the tweet. I highly recommend SANS Cyber Aces if you want to fresh up the basics

2. My walkthrough of the current system that I use to stay informed in the infosec

  • This one more on listing down how I get my infosec news. Will elaborate further in a different article later

3. The start of building home lab from “So you want to be a SOC Analyst?” series by Eric Capuano

  • This series is a walk through of building SOC home lab suited to someone with low spec like me, highly recommended.

4. Hacktoria “Follow the Black Rabbit” writeup

  • Hacktoria is a story based OSINT challenge with variety of challenge provided. I don’t think anyone in Malaysia knew this one so if you’re interested in OSINT challenges, pay them a visit.

5. L’espion challenge writeup

  • L’espion is a writeup on CyberDefenders. This is quite enjoyable as a beginner level OSINT challenge.

Next plan?

just continue as far as I could go as I do am curious on how long can I stand doing this thing.

That’s all for this post and feel free to come visit @thisisfinx on twitter

Thank you and have a good day:)
